Abbott – Data Center
Construction of a new 1800 SF server room and data center. Project included conversion of an existing 2nd floor shell space to a new server room including two new upflow CRAC units, duct distribution, relocation of all building utilities running through the shell space, 5'x5' structural unistrut grid for all utility support, structural housekeeping pads, and fully interlocked FM200 and pre-action fire suppression system with integrated EPSMS control panel. CRAC units were water cooled, fed from condenser water in the equipment yard. Power was fed to three new UPS/PDU systems with redundant feeds, and power distribution was overhead through wiremold and ladder rack systems. Project was completed under very tight time restrictions to allow Abbott to relocate their existing server room to this new location on time. Total project cost was approximately $1,200,000.
